Marriage10 Jun 1879 She married Charles McKinney on 10 Jun 1879 in Washington County.4,6 
Devisee  On the death of Mary's father in 1885, Mary inherited the family home known as Morningside and much of the surrounding acreage. It was a beautiful home sitting on land that had been in the Beattie family since the 1780s.7 
  Charles and Mary raised 6 children in the home, which they opened to a large circle of friends. They furnished the house beautifully, and improved the farm's holdings, even building their own race track to showcase their horses.8 
Moth-Death1897  Mary's mother died in 1897 leaving Mary 1,800 acres of land in Crittendon Co., Arkansas. 
Cens-190025 Jun 1900  Charles also died during the 1890s as Mary was listed as widowed in 1900. She was enumerated in the family home with her 6 children who ranged in age from 20 year old Beattie to 9 year old Cosby.9 
Death8 Apr 1933 Mary died from chronic nephritis on 8 Apr 1933 in Elizabethton, Carter County, Tennessee, at age 79.10 
Burial9 Apr 1933 She was buried on 9 Apr 1933 at Old Glade Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.10
