Birth15 Mar 1880 John Clark Ryburn was born on 15 Mar 1880 in Washington County, Virginia.1,4 
Cens-191018 Apr 1910 John was single and living with his mother and sister in Washington County when the 1910 census was recorded. He stated that he was a farmer.5 
Devisee1913 John's uncle, William B. Ryburn wrote his will in late 1913. He left John the 69 acres of land upon which he lived. It was to pass to John on the death of William's wife, Ann. John and his two sisters were also gifted a 24 acre parcel lying to the north of William's residence. Ann Ryburn died in 1918 at which time John inherited the larger tract.6 
Cens-19206 Jan 1920  Two years later John was enumerated with his sister; their mother had died in the years since the 1910 census.7 
Marriage14 Jul 1920 He married Viola Jane Clark on 14 Jul 1920 in Bristol, Virginia.4,8 
 The couple did not have children.9,10 
Death19 Mar 1961 John died on 19 Mar 1961 at age 81.11,12 
Obituary John's obituary was recorded in a Gladespring, Virginia paper on March 19th (1961) and read as follows:
John Clark Ryburn, 81, died Sunday at the home of Walter McNew, Route 1, Meadowview, VA. He was a farmer of the Glade Spring area and a member of the Glade Spring Presbyterian Church. Surviving are several nieces & nephews. Williams Funeral Home, Chilhowie, VA, is in charge of arrangements.13 
  Walter McNew, at whose home John died, was John's nephew, the son of his sister, Nancy (Ryburn) McNew. 
Burial He was buried at Old Glade Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.12
