Birth2 Dec 1811 Archimedes Davis was born on 2 Dec 1811 in Washington County, Virginia.2 
Marriage12 Feb 1840 He married Mary V. Fulkerson, daughter of Abraham Fulkerson and Margaret Vance, on 12 Feb 1840 in Granger County, Tennessee.3 
Guardian22 Apr 1844 He was appointed guardian of his two youngest brothers, John and James on 22 Apr 1844.4 [following the death of their father the previous month] 
Cens-Sum  Archimedes and Mary lived in Washington County following their marriage. The two census entries on which they were recorded as a couple suggest they were very successful landowners. In 1850 they owned land valued at $4,000. In 1860 their holdings totaled $20,000, along with $3,000 in personal property. The family owned at least one slave. Besides farming their land, Archimedes was a lawyer in Abingdon. They also were the parents of a large family, totalling at least 13 children. The youngest was less than a year old when Archimedes died.5,6,7 
Death22 Oct 1865 Archimedes died on 22 Oct 1865 at age 53.8 
Burial He was buried at Davis Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.8
