Birth Sarah C. Davis was born in Virginia.2
Marriage She married Francis M. Davis, son of Robert Davis and Nancy McMillan. They were first cousins.3
Cens-18508 Oct 1850  Sarah and Francis lived in Sullivan County, Tennessee, in 1850. The census enumerated them that fall with 3 Davis children: Mary (5), Robert (3) and James (2), all of whom were born in Tennessee. Also living with them was 13 year old Catherine Hanby [the daughter of Sarah's deceased sister Lydia].2
Frank (as he was known by the family) practiced law in Blountville. In 1852 he served in the Tennessee Legislature.1,4
Migration  In the mid 1850s the family moved to San Antonio, Texas and then to San Saba, Texas. Catherine Hanby accompanied them.1,5
However, the Texas venture did not prove successful and the family decided to return east. A family anecdote states that Sarah died on the way to Arkansas, however it appears she reached that destination as her youngest child was born in Arkansas in late 1859 or early 1860, probably just prior to Sarah's death.1
DeathJan 1860 Sarah died of appoplexy in Jan 1860 in Sebastian County, Arkansas.6
