Deathbefore 20 Oct 1830 Robert died before 20 Oct 1830.8 
Probate Recd19 Nov 1830  James L. Davis [Robert's son] was appointed administer of Robert's estate which was appraised Nov. 19, 1830 and valued at $3,762.12.9 
Probate Recd24 Oct 1831  The following fall William M. Davis petitioned the Washington County court for a division of Robert's slaves among his heirs. James L. Davis received Hannah (6), Berry (4), Maria (3) and Tom (3). Mary Davis received Clara (23), Rutita (3) and an infant named Andrew. William M. Davis received Harriet (13) and Harry (9). William was to pay the estate $50. John Davis received Jim (9), Ellen (7) and Emmitt (2). The three youngest heirs, Francis, Robert Earl, and Margaret Jane received Isaac (19), Mary (36), Sophia (25) and Alfred (16) as well as $50 from William. They were to divide the slaves later as all 3 were still underage.10
