Mary (?)1
b. 14 February 1743, d. before October 1786
| Birth | 14 Feb 1743 | Mary (?) was born on 14 Feb 1743.1 |
| | Mary's maiden name is thought to have been Allison. Her great granddaughter, Ann Trigg Bradley (Mrs. Ivie McNees), submitted records taken from what appears to be John Davis's bible (printed by the Church of Scotland in 1768) to the National Genealogical Society Quarterly in 1934. She annotated the submission with the statement that John married first Mary Allison and second Mary Curry. Also of interest is the fact that John and Mary's granddaughter, Hannah (Moffett) Hawk used Allison as a middle name for her son Robert. Her choice of the name is not explained by its appearance elsewhere in either the Davis, Moffett or Hawk families.1 |
| Marriage | circa 1766 | She married John Davis, son of Nathaniel Davis and Sarah (?), circa 1766. |
| Death | before Oct 1786 | Mary died before Oct 1786 at which time John Davis married for a second time. |

- [S1708] Mrs. Ivie McNees, "Davis Records," National Genealogical Society Quarterly, Volume XXII, No. 2 (June 1934): 36. Transcribed entry from religious record printed in 1768 lists John and Mary Davis's dates of birth followed by the names and dates of birth for each of their children (also John's first child from his second marriage). The NGS submission included an annotation, presumably by Mrs. McNees that stated: "John Davis md. 1st Mary Allison; md 2nd Mary Curry (said to be a widow) in 1786."
