Land-Buy17 Jan 1797  On 17 Jan 1797 Alexander purchased 108 acres of a 230 acre parcel on the South Fork of the Holston River in Washington County, Virginia, from David and Margaret Robinson, and Samuel and Hannah Robinson. The latter two couples lived in Green Co., Tennessee. On the same day the two couples sold David Robinson Sr. of Washington Co. the remaining 122 acres. David and Samuel Robinson had patented the land in 1786.1,2,3 
Land-Sell16 Aug 1812  Alexander and Jane [written Jain] sold the same 108 acre parcel to Alexander M. Robinson for $700 on 16 Aug 1812.4 
Will14 Feb 1817  Alexander wrote his will on 14 Feb. 1817. It was brief and to the point. He allowed his debts and funeral expenses to be paid and left his "beloved" wife Jane both his real and personal property. He also appointed her as his executrix. The will was witnessed by John Robinson.5 
Deathbefore 18 Mar 1817 Alexander died before 18 Mar 1817 on which date his will was exhibited at court.5 
Probate Recd22 Mar 1817  Alexander's estate was appraised on March 22nd. Three slaves were noted: Jack (an adult), Mark (a boy) and Lot (a girl). The estate also included horses, hogs, cattle, sheep, various household items, coopers and shoemakers tools, gunsmith tools, carpenters tools, wheelright tools and blacksmith tools. The personal property, including the slaves was valued at $2,284.6
