Birth27 Aug 1817 Mary Talbert was born on 27 Aug 1817 in Virginia.1,2 
Marriage18 Dec 1837 She married, as his second wife, Samuel Logan, son of Barbara Logan, on 18 Dec 1837 in Washington County, Virginia.3 
Cens-185010 Oct 1850  Mary and Samuel were enumerated living in Abingdon in 1850. The household included Samuel's sons from his first marriage as well as several other individuals, including Abram Orr, the town constable.2 
Widowed15 Jul 1855  Mary was widowed on 15 Jul 1855 when Samuel died while appearing at the courthouse in Prince Edward County.4 
Cens-186020 Aug 1860  She then lived with Samuel's son Samuel T. Logan in Jonesboro, Tennessee where the younger man, like his father, was a lawyer.5 
Marriage26 Jan 1864 She married second Judge Seth J.W. Lucky on 26 Jan 1864 in Washington County, Tennessee.6 
  The couple probably made their home in Jonesborough (Washington County) where Judge Lucky had lived for many years. He served as chancellor of the first chancery division of the state of Tennessee and had been previously married to Sarah Rhea with whom he had 9 children.7 
Widowed16 Apr 1869  Judge Lucky died in April 1869.8 
Cens-18702 Jun 1870  By June 1870 Mary had returned to live with her stepson Samuel Logan in Knoxville. Cornelius Lackey (a son of Judge Lucky and his first wife) also lived in Samuel Logan's household while the young man studied law.9 
Cens-188017 Jun 1880  Samuel Logan married Maria Ernest in the fall of 1870. Mary continued to make her home with the young couple and their growing family at their home on West Hill in Knoxville.10 
Cens-19001 Jun 1900  Maria died in 1898. Two years later, at the turn of the century, Mary was again enumerated in Samuel's home. She was 82 years old. Four of Samuel's children, all adults, also lived at home.11 
Death28 Jun 1903 Mary died on 28 Jun 1903 at age 85.1 
Burial She was buried at Jonesborough City Cemetery in Washington County, Tennessee. Mary's second husband and his first wife were also buried at Jonesborough City Cemetery.1 
  A brief obituary in the Jonesborough newspaper following Mary's death noted that several friends from Knoxville attended her funeral.12
