Moses Edmiston had married Samuel's widowed mother in 1809.3
Ward18 Jun 1816  Two years later Samuel McGinnis was appointed guardian of Samuel and William.4
Legatee24 Dec 1825  Samuel's brother John wrote his will in late 1825. He left Samuel and his brothers Robert and William his share in a small tract of land lying on the Middle Fork of the Holston River as well as a share of the debt owed John from his cousin Samuel Scott.1
Care must be taken to distinguish the two Samuel Scott cousins, who were no doubt of about the same age.
