Research Comment:

In 1875 Robert, representing his wife Sarah Ann (nee Debusk), along with David Debusk [Sarah Ann's brother] filed a lawsuit against Dorcas Debusk who was the widow of Samuel Debusk. Samuel, who was David and Sarah Ann's father, died in 1863 leaving several heirs. The conditions of the lawsuit are not stated in the brief abstract available to me, but it would be interesting to pursue the actual case which is on microfilm at the Library of Virginia. It may be nothing more than the formalities necessary to divide up assets when an individual died leaving underage heirs.11,12
