Data re family of William Beattie, son of John and Ellen (Gilmore) Beattie, RSC, 1951.  William Beattie married Mary Allison in Washington Co., Virginia, and was killed at the battle of Kings Mountain.

1938 - Susan Martha (Beattie) Kelley (born 1850 Andrew Co., Missouri) Mrs. William Kelley) of Rosendale, Missouri, daughter of David Stephenson and Angeline Telitha (Howell) Beattie of Saline Co., Missouri.
 
1939 - Ruth (Wait) Tuttle (Mrs. P. M. Tuttle) of Burnside, Kentucky re her Beattie ancestors.  She was granddaughter of John Perry Beaty, great grandaughter of Jonathan and Polly (Forgey) Beaty of Kentucky.
 
1939 - Mary (Stephenson) Wait (Mrs. Harry Wait) of Burnside, Kentucky.  She explains she is not the Mrs. Harry Wait RSC is trying to contact and provides information re her husband's family which includes data re his grandmother Mary Jane Newell, the daughter of John Montgomery Newell (1790-1871) and Margaret Beaty (1799-1851).  Margaret Beaty was the daughter of John and Polly (Forgey) Beaty.  Includes data re Newell and Wait and RSC's data re the James and _______(Beattie) Dysart family.
 
1939 - Elizabeth Clare Taubman (Mrs. George P. Taubman, Jr.) of Long Beach, California.  Includes data re John and Francis Beattie, brothers who were from Ireland.  John married Ellen Gilmore and died in Washington Co., Virginia in 1790.  Francis was of Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania and later Augusta Co., Virginia and Mecklinburgh Co., North Carolina.  Data re families of each.
 
1940 - Lawrence O. Weakly re family of Armstrong Beattie who RSC states was son of James Beattie of Virginia who died 1821 in Boone Co., Missouri.

1951 - Hattie Shoemaker of Bristol, Tennessee sends data re family of Richard Beattie and wife Eliza Morton of Jonesville, Virginia.  Includes data re Hill.  Mentions her plans re formation of Gilmer Family Association.
