Dear Mrs. Kelley:

Recently I have been in correspondence with your niece, Mrs. Denney, in an effort to discover if I could the relationship existing between Brack and Strong Beattie of the Fountain Bleau neighborhood, and Armstrong Beattie of St. Joseph, and your family.  Brack Beattie was my great Uncle, by marriage.  I was born in his home.

I am in hopes that you can tell me something about your father and his people, and would be most glad if by return mail you will fill out and mail to me the enclosed questionnaire, giving me as best you can data regarding your father and his people.

I am writing a similar letter to Mrs. Hutchens[.]  I hope that both of you will give me your recollections concerning the family of your father.

Thanking you for an early reply, I am,

                                                  Yours sincerely,
