Cens-190012 Jun 1900 In 1900 Edward was enumerated as the head of his own family living in the household of his father in the Rich Valley district of Smyth County, Virginia. Beulah (enumerated as Bulah B.) was also recorded, as was 1 year old Howard.2 
Cens-19101910  The 1910 census recorded Edward as the head of his own household in the Saltville precinct of Smyth County. He owned his home and was employed as a carpenter. Bulah was listed as the mother of 5 children, all of whom were living. They were enumerated as: Howard, Paul, Harry, Cathaleen [sic] and Mary.3 
Cens-192015 Jan 1920  Ten years later the enumeration district was listed as "Rich Valley district"". Three more children had been born: Robert, Nell and Gilmer.4 
Death27 Mar 1955 Beulah died on 27 Mar 1955 in Smyth County, Virginia, at age 77.1
