  She was the youngest child in a family of 8 children. 
Cens-1880Jun 1880  In 1880, when the Washington County census was enumerated, Frances was recorded at home with 3 older sisters. Her father's occupation was listed as "farmer."2 
Fath-Death10 Sep 1881  He died the following year; Frances was nine years old. 
Marriage2 Jan 1894 or 3 Jan 1894 She married John C. Hanner on 2 Jan 1894 or 3 Jan 1894 in Washington County, Virginia.5,6 
Cens-190020 Jun 1900 Frances and John spent the first years of their marriage farming in the Glade Spring district of the county.7 
Cens-191015 Apr 1910 By 1910 Frances's and John's family included 7 daughters; an 8th had died young. John was no longer farming, but was working as a railroad fireman.8 
Migration1911  About 1911 Frances and John moved to Bristol.9 
Cens-193010 Apr 1930  There they provided a home, not only for their single daughters, but also for their married daughters and their husbands.10,11 
Death7 Mar 1933 Frances died on 7 Mar 1933 in Bristol, Washington County, Virginia, at age 60.3,4,12 
Burial She was buried at Mountain View Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.3
