Cens-Sum  Elizabeth did not marry but continued to live in her childhood home, first with her parents, and following their death, with her widowed brother James. Elizabeth's sister Nancy also did not marry and lived at home.5,6,7 
Will14 Dec 1891  Elizabeth wrote her will in December 1891. She left her real and personal estate (except the mineral rights) to her nieces Rachel A. Scott and Isabella F. Clark and their children with the stipulation that Elizabeth's brothers and sisters should each have a home on the property as long as they lived. The mineral rights were to go to the children of her brother John S. Smyth and the children of her nieces Rachel Scott and Isabella Clark.8 
Death23 Jan 1892 Elizabeth died of pneumonia on 23 Jan 1892 in Washington County, Virginia, at age 72.9,10,2 
Burial She was buried at Smyth's Chapel Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.4,2
