Birth10 Oct 1828 Elizabeth Clark was born on 10 Oct 1828.6,1,7
Cens-Sum  Elizabeth was born in Virginia (probably in Washington County) and spent her entire life on the family lands in the Glade Spring district of the county. She did not marry, but like several of her siblings remained at home as an adult. Interestingly, in 1860 the census enumerated Elizabeth with the occupation of "weaver". However, the census records created after her mother's death in 1868 indicated that Elizabeth was keeping house. This no doubt reflected her position as the eldest daughter. In 1880, shortly before their father's death, Elizabeth and 5 of her siblings were still living at home. They ranged in age from John (40) to Emily (27). Elizabeth, enumerated on this and in most other records as Eliza, was 50.8,9,10,11
Devisee27 Sep 1880  Eliza's father wrote his will in 1873 and modified it with a codicil in 1878. The documents were probated in 1880 following his death. Eliza received a bed and household furniture as did her unmarried sisters. All 5 of Peter's surviving daughters were to receive 10 acres off of the home tract but Eliza's sister Amanda died before the will was executed. In addition Eliza's brothers were charged with providing each of their unmarried sisters with a horse and 2 cows, or $150 in cash.4
Death17 May 1885 Elizabeth died of pneumonia on 17 May 1885 in Washington County, Virginia, at age 56.12,1,13
Burial She was buried at Old Glade Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.1
