Birth1864 Lee E. Porterfield was born in 1864 in Virginia.4 
Childhood  Lee spent his childhood on the family lands in Washington County, Virginia.5,1 
Cens-19005 Jun 1900  By 1900 he had moved west and was working as a hired hand in Umatilla County, Oregon.6 
Cens-Sum Moving north to Adams County, Washington, Lee acquired his own farm, on which he was enumerated in 1910 and 1920. Both records recorded him as a single man with no one else in the household.7,8 
  Frank Porterfield's book The Porterfields states that Lee was a wheat farmer in Washington and Oregon for 40 years and that he returned to Virginia 5 years before his death.2 
Death1933 or 1935 Lee died in 1933 or 1935.4,9 
Burial He was buried at Old Glade Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.4
