Birth25 May 1744 According to what is believed to be his obituary, Robert Allison was born on 25 May 1744.2 
Immigration1752 One source suggests Robert immigrated from Scotland to North Carolina in 1752 and then moved to Virginia by 1773.3 
  Another source states that Robert was born about 1730, lived in Iredell County, North Carolina in 1757 and moved to Washington County in 1781.4 
Marriage He married Elizabeth (?).5,6 
Land-Sell19 Jun 1798 On 19 Jun 1798 Robert Allison and Elizabeth (?) sold two tracts of land in Washington County. One parcel was 48 acres in size and was located on Mill Fork, a branch of the Holston River. They sold it to James Dysart for 30 pounds. They also sold 230 acres on a branch of the Middle Fork to Henry Jones of Sullivan County, Tennessee for 300 pounds.6 
Migration  Shortly after this the couple moved to Logan County, Kentucky. 
Land-SellSep 1802  Then in 1802, while living in Logan County they sold several additional parcels they still owned back in Virginia: Two parcels were sold to William Allison and 112 acres on Thompson's Mill Creek were sold to John Porterfield. The latter was the tract on which Robert and Elizabeth had lived.7 
Will23 Mar 1816  Robert wrote his will on 23 Mar 1816 in Christian County, Kentucky. It was witnessed by M. Wilson, R. Pennington and John McKinney. The document named Robert's daughters Mary Beaty and Elizabeth Heytor, as well as his sons William, Robert, Samuel, James and Joseph. Robert devised land in Tennessee to sons James, Samuel and Joseph. James and Joseph were named executors.1 
Death1 Sep 1822 Robert died on 1 Sep 1822 in Todd County, Kentucky, at age 78 (Todd County had been created from Christian County two years earlier).2 
Obituary7 Sep 1822 Robert's obituary was published in the Logan Co. KY Weekly Messenger on Sept 7, 1822. It stated he died in Todd Co. on Sept 21, 1822 after a severe illness of 7 days.2
