Name Other She was known as Addie, an affectionate version of her middle name. 
Legatee31 Aug 1867  Addie's Aunt Amanda Hutton, who had lived in the Hutton home with Addie and her siblings, left Addie a bed and bed clothing in her 1867 will. Addie was to have second choice after her older sister Amanda (Vene).6 
Devisee1892  When Addie was a little past 30 her father died leaving Addie and her sister Vene part of the home tract of land as well as a sewing machine. They also each received a cow and a horse.2 
Cens-Sum The sisters lived on Indian Run Road (called Tattle Branch Road in 1920) and Addie was employed as a school teacher. Neither sister ever married.7,8,9 
Attributes Addie apparently was also an artist, as both her own will and that of her sister Vene refer to Addie's paintings. 
Cens-192022 Jan 1920 By 1920 the sister's nephew, John P. Hutton, was living with them and helping run their affairs.9 
Death3 Nov 1924 Martha died on 3 Nov 1924 at age 63.10,1 
Will-Recd10 Nov 1924 Addie's will was recorded on 10 Nov 1924 in Washington County, Virginia, She left all her property to her sister Vene and on her death to their nephew John P. Hutton. He was to pay certain legacies, including $400 to the Glade Spring Church. She also left personal items to various family members, often adding comments of her own. She closed the will by saying, "Well in short I'd like to give them all something for I love them all."11 
Burial She was buried in Old Glade Spring Cemetery, Washington County, in the Hutton-Porterfield family square.10
