Name Other Amanda was known as Lavinia (Lavenia) or Vene most of her life. 
Legatee31 Aug 1867  Amanda Hutton, Vene's aunt for whom she was named, willed Vene, in 1867, the money arising from the sale of land lying in White Rock cove in Smyth County. This land had originally been left to Amanda by her father. Vene also received the first choice of Amanda's beds and bed furniture.6 
Devisee1892 Vene's father died in 1892, leaving she and her sister Martha (Addie) a portion of the "home tract" of land, along with a sewing machine which they were to share.2 
Legatee30 Jun 1906 Elizabeth Byars Hall, Vene's cousin, remembered her with $250 when she wrote her will in 1906. She also left her "Grandma Ryburn's picture."7 
Cens-Sum Neither Vene nor her sister Addie married. They lived in the family home on Indian Run Road (called Tattle Branch Rd. on the 1920 census) near Old Glade Spring in Washington County.8,9,10 
  Here they were surrounded by memories of an earlier day. Descendants recall seeing the old Bible belonging to their grandfather, Beattie Ryburn, in the parlor of their home in the early 1900s, but its location after Vene's death is not known. 
Death6 Jan 1929 Amanda died on 6 Jan 1929 at age 73.1,4,11 
Burial She was buried in the Hutton-Porterfield square at Old Glade Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.1 
Will-Recd12 Jan 1929 Vene's will, written in May 1927, was recorded on January 12th, 1929. She wrote, "Knowing that my time in this world is not long I will simply will my property, wish it was more". She went on to distribute keepsakes, as she called them, to her various nieces and nephews. She referred to them as her and Addie's "children."12 
  Clearly they were much loved aunts.
