Marriage23 Feb 1870 She married Daniel Burke McNew, son of James McNew and Sallie (?), on 23 Feb 1870 in Washington County, Virginia.2 
Cens-188026 Jun 1880 Nancy and William lived and raised their five children in the Glade Spring area of Washington County, Virginia. However, unlike many of his neighbors, Daniel was not a farmer, but instead worked as a railroad engineer.7 
  Daniel and Nancy also raised Benjamin Newton Ryburn, youngest child of Nancy's brother William, from the time he was 6 weeks old. However, they never formally adopted him. Bennie's mother died shortly after his birth. Ironically, years later, Nancy and Daniel's son Walter would raise the infant son of Benjamin Ryburn.8 
Cens-19006 Jun 1900 In 1900, at age 59, Daniel was still working for the railroad, as was his oldest son James.9 
Cens-191018 Apr 1910 By 1910 Nancy was widowed. Her four sons, who ranged in age from 37 to 24, were still single and living with her, as was Bennie Ryburn. Both James and Joseph were now working on the railroad.10 
Death12 Dec 1914 Nancy died on 12 Dec 1914 in Glade Spring, Washington County, at age 67.11 
Burial She was buried at Old Baptist Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.12
