Birthcirca 1797 Ryburn Buchanan was born circa 1797.3
Migration Ryburn settled in Sullivan County, Tennessee, not far from his family in Washington County Virginia. He may have met and married Elizabeth Rhea in Tennessee as that is the state of birth recorded for her on the 1850 census, and no record of a marriage in Washington County has been found for them. They were clearly settled in Tennessee by 1827 as their eldest child was born there that year.
Marriage He married Elizabeth Rhea, daughter of William Rhea and Elizabeth Breden.3
Cens-18501850 The 1850 census found Ryburn and Elizabeth farming in Sullivan County. Three children, Elizabeth, 22, William 16, and John, 11 were recorded with them.4
It is not known if the couple had other, older, children alive at this time, but by 1878, when the estate of Ryburn's 3 Buchanan uncles was probated, the only heirs listed for Ryburn were the 3 children enumerated with him in 1850.5
Deathcirca 1855 Ryburn died circa 1855 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.3
