Ward23 Aug 1858 William B. Ryburn, Mathew's uncle, was named his guardian on August 23, 1858 following the death of Mathew's mother in 1852 and his father earlier in August 1858.2 
Cens-18601860  Mathew appears to be living with Mathew Ryburn and Martha H. Clark Ryburn in 1860. Mathew Ryburn was his mother's brother. However Mathew's name was recorded as Reuben Henderson.4 
Death16 Apr 1864 Mathew died on 16 Apr 1864 at age 17.3 

Research Comment:

Mathew Henderson may have fought in the Civil War. Years after the death of Robert Henderson, Mathew's sister Martha filed suit against the administrator of Robert's estate. The papers associated with that case document Mathew's date of death and also include this statement by Martha:

"They had spoke of charging me with a horse my brother rode in the war."5
