Research Comment:

Charles appears with his presumed father, Thomas Cobbs in the 1880 household of William B. Byars. Unfortunately the relationship box on the census form was left empty. However Cobbs researchers believe he was the son of Thomas Cobbs and Sarah Taylor. Charles was probably buried in the Cobbs family cemetery. Unfortunately there again we are left with partial clues as the stones in the cemetery are marked with initials. I have not found Charles on any census record after 1880 and he was not named in the will of William Byars as was his presumed half-brother William Byars Cobbs.1
