Research Comment:

High On A Windy Hill reports two headstones in Moore Cemetery which seem to contradict each other:

Infant Cole, d/o J.L. & E.E. Cole, d. 27 Oct. 1854, age 1d
Infant Cole, d/o J.L. & E.E. Cole, d. 18 Oct. 1854, age 1d

In addition, Washington County birth records also report this entry (as abstracted):

Infant female Cole, d/o Jas S. [L] and Elizabeth Cole, born dead 29 Oct. 1854

Assuming two distinct headstones exist, it would appear the year on one of the stones was misread. The county birth records frequently do not mirror other records, sometimes reflecting the date the birth was reported, not the actual date of the birth. Since we do not know which headstone was misread it is difficult to know which infant belongs to the birth record.1,2,3
