Birth7 Sep 1851 William Henry Musser was born on 7 Sep 1851.1 
Marriage25 Dec 1873 He married Elizabeth Cummings on 25 Dec 1873.1 
Cens-188017 Jun 1880  William and Elizabeth made their home in Abingdon in Washington County, Virginia. In 1880 their household included 5 children; William was employed as a carpenter.2 
Cens-19004 Jun 1900  Elizabeth gave birth to an additional 6 children in the 20 years between the 1880 and 1900 census enumerations. However, by the summer of 1900 only 6 of the couple's 11 children were still living.3 
Widowed24 Sep 1901  William was widowed when Elizabeth herself died in 1901. His two youngest daughters were less than 5 years old. 
MarriageDec 1902 He married second Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Satterfield in Dec 1902.1 
  Mary Elizabeth, or "Lizzie" as she was known, was a widow with two young daughters.  
Cens-191021 Apr 1910  The couple's 1910 household blended both of their families and included 3 children born to William and Lizzie. William's son Daniel (36, single) was employed as a retail grocery merchant; son Heiskell (28, single) worked as a contractor while son George (20) was a laborer. Two daughters from William's first marriage, Sophia (18) and Kate (14), as well as Lizzie's daughters Anna (16) and Georgia Satterfield (13), were also present. William and Lizzie's 3 children included Cummings (son, 6), L.T. (son, 2) and Elizabeth (1). A nurse, who was no doubt quite busy, lived with the family.4 
Widowed4 May 1913  Lizzie died on 4 May 1913. She had given birth on April 27th. The child had only lived a few hours. 
Jan 1914  The following January, William's son Milton Heiskell Musser, married Lizzie's daughter Anna. 
Cens-19209 Jan 1920  Following Lizzie's death William remained in the family home on E. Valley St. in Abingdon. In 1920 five of his children, ranging from 46 year old Daniel to 11 year old Elizabeth, were enumerated with him.5 
  William was a well know builder in Washington County. He followed in the footsteps of his father who was a carpenter and his maternal grandfather who was a brick mason. William married for a third time prior to this death; the marriage was short lived. 
Death28 Dec 1924 William died on 28 Dec 1924 in Abingdon, Washington County, Virginia, at age 73.1,6 
Burial He was buried at Sinking Spring Cemetery in Abingdon, Washington County, Virginia.1
