Research Comment:

In 1875 David, along with his wife Sarah's brother Robert Larimer (who had married David's sister Sarah Debusk), filed a lawsuit in Washington County court against Dorcas Debusk the widow of Samuel Debusk. Samuel was the father of David Debusk and Sarah (Debusk) Larimer. The suit named as Samuel's heirs: David Debusk, Sarah Larimer, and 4 Debusk children who were underage: John, Samuel, James M. and George W. The suit may have been nothing more than a formality necessary to divide Samuel's estate in light of the fact that there were underage children involved.7,8
