FatherJames Davis b. late 1752 to 1755, d. 1836
Marriage24 Dec 1801 Sarah Davis married John Corry, son of James Corry and Mary Copeland, on 24 Dec 1801 in Washington County, Virginia.1,2
Sarah's uncle, John Davis, married as his second wife, Mary Corry, John Corry's widowed mother. Therefore Sarah married her uncle's stepson.
Cens-18301830  John Corry was enumerated as the head of his household in 1830. He was no doubt indicated as the 50-60 year old male. The household also included a 40-50 year old female [no doubt Sarah] and a 20 to 30 year old male [probably son James].3
John and Sarah's daughter Mary married Wallace Maxwell in 1828. Son John married Eliza Jane Williams in 1848 in Washington County, Tennessee but died the following year. Sarah may or may not have been alive at that time.4
Deathbetween 1840 and 1850 Sarah probably died between 1840 and 1850 as she appears to have been present on the former census but was not recorded on the latter.4

  5. [S16] James Curry, a minor (guardian Michael Weathers), is listed as a devisee in settlement records for John Curry. Michael Weathers was appointed guardian of James Curry, son of James Curry on Nov. 26, 1855. The estate of Dr. James Curry was appraised in 1849. Therefore the younger James Curry inherited from his grandfather in right of his deceased father James..
