Birth18 Oct 1767 Jacob Susong was born on 18 Oct 1767 in Alsace-Lorraine according to various Ancestry.com trees. 
Marr Bond17 Mar 1792 He and Margaret Beggs were issued a marriage bond on 17 Mar 1792 in Rockbridge County, Virginia.3 
  Peggy's surname also appears in records as Baggs. Her mother was Sarah.4 
Residence  Jacob owned land in the vicinity of Euclid Ave. in present day Bristol. The original Susong house, where Jacob's children were born, was torn down in 1917. However, Estelle Susong Bonham (b. 1896), a great granddaughter of Jacob, described it as a 2 story log and weatherboarded house.2 
Religion He was one of the early elders in the Paperville Presbyterian Church. At the time Paperville was a thriving community and Bristol was just meadow land.2 
Children  Besides 5 sons, Jacob had the following daughters: Rebecca (marr Jacob Thomas), Nancy (marr William Cowan), Sarah (marr Jacob Marchant), Louisa (marr William Rader), Patsy (marr Cornelius Carmack) and Ann Barbara (marr Conrad Stevens).2 
Will18 Jul 1831 Jacob wrote his will on 18 Jul 1831. He left his residence and the surrounding 242 acres to his son Jacob. Sons Andrew, James and Mahlon also received land. Jacob also remembered daughters Rebecca, Louisa, Patsy Carmack, Anna Stevens and Nancy Cowan. A codicil added the following September instructed sons Andrew and James to pay Alexander Susong $75 in goods and allowed a share of his estate to Sarah Merchant. Death18 Oct 1831 Jacob died on 18 Oct 1831 at age 64.6 
Burial He was buried at Susong Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.6
