John recorded this entry in his family Bible upon Elizabeth's death:

Elizabeth Mitchell my dear and beloved wife at 4 o'clock a.m. on Tuesday the 13th of May 1806 aged twenty nine years and interred on Mount Prospect at Saltville Washington County, Virginia together with our two infants who departed this life shortly after their births and which not being Christened in consequence of their premature deaths are not included in the list of Births, but their bodies were interred near their mother in a coffin on each side of her. She was a wife of the purest virtues whom I most sincerely loved and whose death I regret from the bottom of my soul. I hope that my children will take example of this and love each other with virtuous affection becoming Brothers and Sisters and may God bless my children. Saltville May the 21st, 1806 - John Mitchell.1

Elizabeth Mitchell died May 13, 1806, hence it is likely the infants were also born/died in May 1806).
