  According to a list kept by his brother William, James married in June 1836. However the list does not include the bride's name or the location of the ceremony. A document dated Feb. 1850, and filed as part of a Chancery Ct. case involving the heirs of Moses Hutton, noted that James was not a resident of Washington County, Virginia.1,4
