Birth1855 John Logan was born in 1855 in Estill County, Kentucky.1 
Childhood  John was the 6th child and 3rd son in a family of 12 children. He spent the bulk of his childhood in Estill and Powell counties, Kentucky. Following his father's death he helped his brothers run the family farm in Powell County.2,3 
Marriage27 Jul 1881 He married Mary Susan Myers on 27 Jul 1881 in Montgomery County, Kentucky.1 
  John and Mary remained in Powell County following their marriage, where they farmed and also raised a large family. In 1910 Mary reported that she was the mother of 8 children, all of whom were living.4 
  Although only the 2 youngest children were still at home in 1910, their known children (all born in Powell County) included: John Quinton (1882-1961), Albert (1886-1966), Amy Jane (1888-1968), Julia (1891-1970), Nettie (1893-1976), Mary Ann (1897-1976) and William Alfred (1900-1973).1 
Death8 Feb 1942 John died on 8 Feb 1942.1 
Burial He was buried at Logan Cemetery in Powell County.1
