Will | 24 Mar 1805 | Andrew wrote his will in March 1805 however he appears to have lived for some years after that as the will was not entered at court until June 21st 1814. Andrew left his wife Elizabeth her dower third of his money, as well as the use of the house, but specified that should she remarry the cash and use of the house would revert to his daughters, none of whom appear to have been married in 1805. Andrew left his two adjoining tracts of land to be equally divided between his 4 sons (named as James, William, Edward and Andrew) when the youngest son came of age. The sons were also to pay Andrew's 6 daughters $200 when the girls came of age. Andrew also left his daughters, whom he named as Sally, Mary, Ann, Charity, Jain [sic] and Elizabeth, any money remaining after his debts had been paid. Lastly, Andrew instructed his executors (Samuel Kelly and John Kelly, Jr.) to bind out his children to a good trade or calling, unless his wife wished any of them to remain with her.1 |
