William B. Allison of Washington Co., VA

Wife Mary plantation on which I now reside during her natural life, also household and kitchen furniture and as much stock as she and my son William W. Allison think necessary for carrying on the farm; also farming utensils including wagon; also Negro man Edmund; if she cannot manage him she may sell or hire him out in which case proceeds to be divided amongst all my children except son Robert. Also will to wife Negro woman Barbary and her child Campbell.

Son Robert C. Allison $800 and a bay mare, saddle and bridle and his gun and an equal share with other heirs in the debt due me by Meck Haines and Co. (wife to also receive an equal share)

Son William W. Allison my bay horse, a saddle and bridle – it is my wish that he stay with his mother and assist in raising the family; if he sees that they are comfortable and children receive a common English education he is to receive one half of the real proceeds of the farm. Any stock not needed on farm to be sold and proceeds equally divided between wife and children, except Robert.

All other debts due me to be divided equally between my wife and children excepting son Robert. If wife and son William wish to sell farm they may do so but must use proceeds to purchase new land which is to be subject to same conditions as that which was sold.

At death of wife land to be equally divided between four [sons] William W. Allison, Samuel D. Allison, John B. Allison and Abram H. Allison; daughter, Martha H. Allison to have her support of the land while she remains single.
