William Buchanan, Last Will & Testament
Wife Margaret: one/third of my land during her natural life and all my household furniture consisting of 4 beds, bedsteads & furniture for the same, 1 bureau, 1 case of drawers, 1 cupboard & furniture, 1 clock, 2 falling leaf tables, 1 small table, 6 windsor chairs, 6 split bottom chairs, 1 candlestand, 1 loom & tachlings attached to same and all my kitchen furniture, 1 horse beast [?] & 4 head of cattle & 1/3 part of wool that may come of my flock of sheep during her natural life & she is to dispose of said property at her death by will or otherwise as she may think proper except the increase of said stock & that is to go to Russell M. Buchanan
Son Russell M. Buchanan: plantation I now live on and all farming tools & wagon together with stock of horses, cows, hogs & sheep except what left to wife by him paying following sums to my son William Ryburn Buchanan and my 4 daughters Polly Stewart, wife of Arthur Stewart, Sally Stewart, wife of Joseph Stewart, Rosan R. Edmondson wife of Andrew Edmondson, Mgt J B Edmondson wife of John Edmondson and my grandson William Buchanan son of my son Samuel Buchanan, deceased…. $50 each in 5 years after death of my wife & said Russell M. Buchanan is to pay all my just debts & funeral expenses.
