Will of John Ryburn

I John Ryburn of Washington County and state of Virginia Being weak in body but of sound and perfect Mind and Memmory do Constitute and publish this my Last will and Testament in Manner and form following to wit

1st I direct that My body shall be decently interred and all funeral expenses paid

2nd I direct that all my Just debts Shall be paid

3rd Whatever may be left after payments of the above demands I Give and bequeath to my Nephew Patrick Ryburn whom I appoint sole Executor of this my last will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 5th day of Sept 1836

At a Court held for Washington County the 28th day of November 1836 the last Will and Testament of John

Ryburn deceased was exhibited in court and proved by the oath of William Graham and Thomas Montgomery the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of Patrick Ryburn the executor therein named who took the oath of an executor prescribed by law and ordered into and acknowledged his bond in the sum of one thousand dollars with Joseph Stewart and Arthur Stewart his securities
conditioned as the law directs. A certificate is therefore granted him for the probate of the said Will in due form.

Pursuant to an order of Court to us directed bearing date the 28th day of November 1836 after being first duly sworn we have proceeded to appraise and value the estate of John Ryburn dec’d.
