Nuncupative will of Catharine Clark
Given orally on the date of her death: 14 May 1847

John Clark Rosannah J. Clark Jane White and Martha White being sworn depose and say that on the day on which Catharine Clark died and about an hour before her death the said Catharine Clark then being in the opinion of the deponents of sound mind and memory did make the following disposition of her property to wit.
To my niece Catharine Watson I Will to have one hundred and ninety

five dollars due me from James Watson to be paid to her at the age of twenty one years bearing no interest from this time. Also my niece Martha H. Clark daughter of John Clark I Will to have ten dollars… also my sister Martha Watson I Will to have twenty dollars and all the money that is left after defraying all costs and expence. Also my sister Mary Allison I Will to have one bed and clothing also my niece Martha Watson I Will to have my side saddle also my niece Catharine Watson I Will to have one bed and clothing and bedstead.
That the said testamentary words were spoken on the 14th day of May last and were reduced to writing by the said John Clark on the 18th day of May 1847 and signed by the said Rosannah J Clark, Martha White and Jane White which said paper is now present in court.

At a court continued and held for Washington County the 28th day of September 1847.
     It appearing to the court that the summons awarded against Robert Clark John Clark William B. Allison and Mary his wife and John Clark and Nancy his wife requiring them to appear here and contest if they pleased the establishment of the nuncupative Will of Catharine Clark deceased has been duly executed the court proceeded to hear the testimony in relation to the making of said Will and on consideration there of it is ordered that the deposition of John Clark Rosannah J Clark Jane White and Martha White purporting the nuncupative Will of the said Catharine Clark deceased be established as the Will of the said Catharine Clark deceased and recorded as such. And on the motion of John Clark who took the oath of an administrator with the Will annexed prescribed by law and entered into and acknowledged his bond in the sum of six hundred dollars with James Watson as his security conditioned as the law directs: A certificate is therefore granted him for the administration of the estate of the said Catharine Clark deceased with the nuncupative Will annexed in due form.
