I William Moore of Washington County, Virginia, frail of body but of sound mind...

1. executors to pay funeral expenses and just debts

2. cash equally divided between daughter Martha Edmiston, son Samuel Moore and daughter Elizabeth Lowry.

3. to son John S. Moore the ˝ of my land on Eagle Cr. in Kentucky and negro man Fred; also $30

4. to daughter Martha Edmiston the girl Jamima; also 1 cow and calf, 4 head of sheep

5. to daughter Elizabeth Lowry the negro girl Milly; also 1 cow and calf, 4 head of sheep

6. son Samuel to pay William's daughter Mary Ann Ramsey of S. Carolina $20 to be paid out of that part of the estate left to son Samuel.

7. previous to the decease of my beloved wife Elizabeth Moore it was her wish that her bureau should be given to our granddaughter Elizabeth S. Moore. I therefore bequeath bureau to Elizabeth S. Moore, daughter of son Samuel.

8. to son Samuel, all my estate both real and personal not otherwise bequeathed except my library. I direct that it shall be equally divided between Samuel and my daughter Martha Edmiston and my daughter Elizabeth Lowry; son Samuel to pay to each of my black girls Rose Biddy and Hetty $3.

9. as I am not in debt ...... no appraisement of sale necessary and executors need not give security.

10. appoint son Samuel, son-in-law John Edmiston and son-in-law Robert E. Lowry executors
