I, John Allison...

1. funeral expenses and just debts be paid; stone at my grave

2. to adopted daughter Mary Ida Allison the house and lot in Glade Spring, Virginia, adjoining the street next to the Methodist Church in which J__ Bailey now resides.

3. executor to collect from William Roberts my part of the proceeds from the sale of the cattle which he is now purchasing (abt $1,603 furnished Roberts to buy said cattle + one half net profit). Roberts is to sell cattle. Executors to use proceeds to pay debts except the amount owed B.K. Buchanan for the farm which I have since sold to Roberts. To pay this debt I direct executors to collect from Roberts the balance of purchase money he owes and to grant him title

4. executors to sell at public outcry, sometime during the month of Sept. 1879 all the rest of my personal property except household and kitchen furniture upon a credit of 9 months and to divide proceeds equally between my wife Sarah E. Allison and each of my children, to wit: Abram G. Allison, Lelia B. Allison, Nellie G. Allison, James Clinton Allison and Gordon H. Allison, my wife taking a child’s part.

5. to beloved wife Sarah all household and kitchen furniture to be used for the benefit of herself and our children until she remarries or until youngest child comes of age. At that time it is to be divided between herself and each child; she taking a child's part.

6. rest of real estate to wife Sarah and our children as listed above to be equally divided between them; Sarah taking a child's part.

7. appoint brother Samuel D. Allison guardian of all my children and my adopted daughter Mary Ida.

8. appoint Robert C. Allison and Samuel D. Allison executors
