I Mitchell Robinson of the County of Washington and State of Virginia do make this my last Will and Testament in the manner following.

First I allow all my lawful and just debts to be paid together with my funeral expenses.

I will and bequeath to my wife Rachel Robinson and my daughter Jane E. Robinson my land and all my possessions during the natural life of my wife Rachel except what I shall hereafter devise.

I allow and bequeath to my son John Robinson $100 in money within 2 years from this time.

I also will and bequeath to my grandson Mitchell Wesley Pafford 10 acres of land off the South West corner of my plantation lying on the river joining Prices land together with all its appurtenances, this lot not to extend more than 10 rods up the river above the house now occupied by Jessee Pafford, my daughter Rachel Pafford is to have the benefit of this 10 acres of land together with a sufficiency of firewood off my timbered land so long as she chooses to live on it.

I also will and bequeath to my grandson Mitchell Glenn Barlow 10 acres of land on the South East corner of my plantation on the river and joining the land of Lewis Smith together with its appurtenances[.] I allow the benefit of the last named land to my daughter Sarah Barlow together with a sufficiency of firewood so long as she chooses to live on it.

I also will and bequeath to my sons Moses E. Robinson[,] Alexander Robinson and Edward C. Robinson each $5 twelve months after the decease of my wife Rachel.

I will to my daughter Elizabeth Loyd $1 and to my grandson Mitchell Loyd $4 twelve months after the decease of my wife.

I will and bequeath to my daughter Jane E. Robinson after the decease of my wife Rachel all my land except the two 10 acre lots already devised, also to my daughter Jane I allow one half my farming utensils[,] my clock and one half my household furniture, the other half of my household furniture to be equally divided between my daughters Jane E.[,] Rachel and Sarah after the death of my wife Rachel.

I also allow Joseph Barlow one half of my farming utensils after the death of my wife.

The remainder of my property not already devised I bequeath to my daughter Jane E. after the decease of my wife.

I do hereby appoint my son John Robinson and E.A. Robinson the Executors of this my last will and testament and authorize them to divide the estate as the will directs. Given under my hand and seal this 21st day of November 1847.

At a court held for Washington County the 27th day of December 1847
The last Will and Testament of Mitchell Robinson deceased was exhibited in court and proved by the oath of James Robinson and William Houston two of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of John Robinson & Ebenezer A. Robinson the executors therein named who took the oath of an executor prescribed by law and entered into and acknowledged their bond in the sum of $700 with James Robinson, William Houston and Beatie Ryburn their securities conditioned as the law directs: A certificate is therefore granted them for the probat [sic] of the said Will in due form.
