I John Montgomery

1. beloved wife Darcus all household & kitchen furniture, farming utensils, 1 horse, 2 cows, 10 sheep, 10 hogs, and half of my debts or money on hand after debts and funeral expenses paid; to be disposed of as she wishes

2. to wife all my real estate; also Negro boy Fountain during her natural life and at her death Fountain to be free and paid $100 by executors

3. executors to sell rest of perishable part of estate and pay debts and funeral expenses; from that (and the other half of monies on hand at my death) to pay John Clark (son of Peter Clark), John Montgomery (son of Thomas) and Margaret Clark (wife of Peter) $100 each.

4. at death of wife all lands sold; balance after payment to Fountain to be divided equally between Richard Montgomery, Jane Montgomery, Mary Montgomery, Margaret Clark, Susannah McClure, the heirs of Thomas Montgomery, the heirs of Elizabeth Scott, & should Nancy Snodgrass have a grandchild living “this is to be understood that each child of my brother & sisters above named is entitled to an equal part with them”.
