Marriage Andrew Buchanan married Joanna Hay, daughter of David Hay.1,3 
Will13 Oct 1793 Andrew Buchanan wrote his will on October 13th 1793. In it he named his wife Joana, and sons David, Mathew, John and Joseph. He also named daughters Margaret, Eleanor and Hannah. Andrew's sons Mathew and David, along with their mother Joanna executed the will. The witnesses were Moses, Samuel and Robert Buchanan.4 
Death1794 Andrew died in 1794.4 

Research Comment:

The book Early Southwest Virginia Families includes several children who were not mentioned in Andrew's will. They include: Isabella (marr Robert Edmiston), Mary (marr John Edmiston), Samuel, Martha and Jane. The latter 3 are not included below as no additional information has been located for them and they are not included in Jean Keys Buchanan's 1928/9 manuscript.1,3
